Staying hydrated is extremely important to maintain your body functions, overall health and skin condition.

The main role of water is to transport essential nutrients, minerals, vitamins,  glucose and keytones to all the cells in the body and to transport the wastes and toxins that your cells produce and reject.  Water is absolutely essential in helping your body to eliminate them.

In addition to being a carrier, water is vital for every metabolic function in your body, such as metabolizing fats, digestion and elimination, lubrication, enzymatic and chemical reactions. Water moves hormones, antibodies and oxygen throughout the lymphatic system and through the bloodstream.

The fact is that skin is an organ, and just like any other part of the body  your skin is made up of cells. And skin cells, like any other cell in the body, are made up of water. Without water, the organs will certainly not function properly or at their best.

 If your skin is not getting the sufficient amount of water, the lack of hydration will present itself by turning your skin dry, tight and flaky. Dry skin has less resilience and is more prone to wrinkling.

Drinking warm water on a daily basis can increase your body temperature and release toxins from the body and so it prevents the growth of acne.

How Much Water Should I Drink Every Day?

At the very minimum, it’s been recommended to about 2 litres per day.

Drink more if you’re doing heavy work, working out, the climate is hot, or you’re just feeling thirsty. This should be spread out throughout the day as your body can only absorb a limited amount of liquid at a time.
